Obituary for Donald Eric Bissonnette

Donald Eric Bissonnette
DON BISSONNETTE (1950 -2016)

My love, my life, my best friend Don Bissonnette, 66, of Sebringville passed away on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 in Victoria Hospital, London, with family by his side. His cancer took him from us far too quickly.

Don is survived by his loving wife Audrey, and brothers and sisters-in-law Bob and Gloria (Fort Saskatchewan), Larry (Stratford), Ron and Joan (Sarnia), Rick Riley (Mitchell), Sandra (Pridham) Norris and Jim McLafferty (Grand Bend), and Larry Pridham (Sebringville). He truly loved his children Mike Dunlop (Taryn), Dan Dunlop (Amanda), Jeremy (Karen), Steve Dunlop (Linda) and Karen (Rick), as well as his ten grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his loving mother Betty Riley (2012), his dear sisters-in-law Judy (Pridham) Elsdon (2011) and Bonnie Bissonnette (2016), and father-in-law and mother-in-law Ormond (2004) and Evelyn (2016) Pridham.

Don worked at DieMond Machine for almost 25 years, machining all types of metals with precision, but his true passion was woodworking. He had the creative ability to magically transform raw materials into beautiful works of art such as carvings and furniture. He was a true craftsman, and loved to share his knowledge with all those who asked for advice. Most of all, Don loved to ride his Harley with family and friends, whether it was just a day trip to one of our great lakes, or a longer adventure for a few weeks.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Victoria Hospital in London for their care for Don.

Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Bob Heywood officiating. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Memorial donations to the Rotary Club of Stratford - Hospice Project or Cancer Society (Research) would be appreciated and may be made at www.LockhartFuneralHome.com.
