Norman Dow, 97, of RR1, Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Monday, November 6, 2017.

Beloved husband of the late Winnifred (McPhail) Dow (2010). Dear father of David Dow (Paulette) of Iowa and Pastor Ernest Dow (Yvonne) of Blyth. Dear father-in-law of Marion Dow of RR2, Staffa. Loving grandfather of Lisa Bowgren (Eric), Kevin Dow (Kristin), Melanie Dow, Philip Dow, Emily Wierenga (Trenton), Keith Dow (Darcie), Allison Tubbesing (Philipp) and Meredith Mpinga (Davies). Cherished great grandfather of 15 great grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Lillian Hocking and Darwin McPhail (Doriene). Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Irene (Christie) Dow, son Dennis Dow (2013), brothers and sisters Nelson Dow, Jean Dow, Elsie Pridham (Harold), Hazel Colquhoun (Tom), Dorothy Dow (Harvey), brothers-in-law William McPhail, Nelson McPhail, Ross McPhail (Florence), Donald Hocking and sister-in-law Doreen Taylor (Lorne).

Norman served with the First Infantry Brigade (R.C.C.S.) in Sicily, Italy and Holland during WW2. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 128, Mitchell and a faithful member of Thamesview United Church in Fullarton.

Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at Thamesview United Church, Fullarton on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Knowles officiating. Interment in Roy's Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Memorial donations to Thamesview United Church, Canadian Foodgrains Bank or Sleeping Children Around the World would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 128, Mitchell will hold a service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.
