Obituary for Wilfred Rock
WILFRED ROCK
Wilfred Rock, age 87, formerly of RR1, Bornholm passed away peacefully at his residence in Kitchener, Ontario on the morning of Wednesday, November 30, 2022 with his wife Mary faithfully holding his hand.
Beloved husband for 59 years of Mary who he married on June 29, 1963. Dear father of Steven Rock (Ana) and Michael Rock (Lillian). Loving grandfather of Erich and Mya Rock. Dear brother of Grace Elvy (Gerry). He will be missed by the Merswolke family and his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents William and Laura Rock, father-in-law and mother-in-law Herman and Clarice Merswolke.
Wilfred was born in the original log house in Logan Twp. near Bornholm, built by his great-great-grandfather Ernest Hinz who cleared the land from the Canada Company in 1860. Wilfred truly enjoyed farming and had a love of the land and a passion for crops and animals as well as anything connected to John Deere and farm antiques. This love of the land emanated from his love of creation and his love of the Bible and it's author Jehovah God. He treasured serving as an elder in the Mitchell congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years and was currently associated with the Stratford North congregation. He dearly loved his family and was known for his quiet demeanor, kindness, meekness and generosity and was always ready to help those in need or lend a hand if needed.
