JOHN MOORE
John Moore, 90, of Mitchell passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, May 12, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marjorie, daughter Connie Moore (Ian Thomson), grandchildren Liam Moore, Lauren Moore and daughter-in-law Sharla Moore. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by two sons, Grant in 1961 (infancy) and Mark in 2017, his parents Franklyn and Pearl Moore, brother George (Auleen) and sister Marjorie Jarmuth (George).
John and Marjorie farmed in Hibbert Township before retiring to Mitchell in 1998. He was a proud and engaged grandparent. John enjoyed music, spending time with friends, playing cards, dancing and the world of nature. He followed the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs and never tired of watching Seinfeld. John loved the opportunity to take to the skies in flight regardless of the type or size of aircraft. He was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Brodhagen.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations St. Peter's Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
