JEAN MITCHELL (nee: Hocking)
Jean Mitchell, 106, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Beloved wife of the late George Mitchell (1995). Devoted mother of Ethel Briggs and Robert Mitchell and his special friend Betty Kroonen. Loving grandmother of Stephen (Crystal), Paul (Erin), Craig (Katie) and Trevor. Cherished great grandmother "G-ma" of Declan, Simon, Benjamin, Liam, Lillian and Kayleigh. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son-in-law Bob Briggs (2018), daughter-in-law Donna Mitchell (2013), parents Archibald and Edna Hocking, sister Grace Miller (Leslie), brother Gordon Hocking (Doris) and twin sisters in infancy.
Jean was a faithful member of Main St. United Church, the United Church Women and sang in the choir. She was a life-member of the Mitchell and District Agricultural Society.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Dunbar officiating. Spring interment in Woodland Cemetery.
