ILENE MCLAGAN
Ilene McLagan, 96, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Beloved wife of the late Keith McLagan (2008). Dear mother of James (Karen) McLagan, John (Mary) McLagan, Agnes (Bill) Denham and Margaret (Bruce) McDougall. Loving grandmother and great grandmother of Kevin and Kerrie, Kaye and Andrew (Lily, Archer), Dannielle and Mihai (Felix, Grace), Eric, Steven, Jason and Falon (Aurora), Matthew and Holly, Tyler, Cameron, Sarah and Andy (Myra, Alyce), James and Courtney (Elsie, Ivan), Elizabeth and Brent (Owen, Harvey, Neil). Dear sister-in-law of Roslyn McLagan. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Agnes Fanson, sister Mary (Wes) Parsons, brother Howard (Marion) Fanson.
Ilene was a school teacher in her early life. She played the organ in various churches for many years. She was a life-member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mitchell Agricultural Society and involved in 4-H programs. She enjoyed gardening and baking and was especially known for her pies and butter tarts.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am with Rev. Tom Dunbar officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. Memorial donations to Stratford Perth Hospice Foundation, Main St. United Church or Mitchell Agricultural Society would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
