Helen Woods, 87, of Mitchell and formerly of Dublin passed away surrounded by her family at the Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
Beloved wife of the late Patrick J. "Paddy" Woods (2012). Dear mother of Kieran Smale (Dave), Patrick M. Woods (Cindy) and Bette-Anne Stairs. Loving grandmother of Matthew McDonald, Robin Woods, Rob Kerr (Angela), Andrew Kerr (LeeAnne), Danielle Stairs and Katlyn Rose (Shawn). Loving great grandmother of Noelle Davidson, Brooke and Blake Bourdon, Ethan Kerr and Peyton Rose. Dear sister of Jim Horan (Laurene), Jack Horan, Shirley Clairmont and Dr. Paul Horan. Dear sister-in-law of Rose Horan. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her granddaughter Lisa Bourdon, parents Fergus and Mary Horan, brothers Ray Horan and Steve Horan (Bernice), sister Mary Cronin (Len), brothers-in-law John Clairmont and Joe Woods and sisters-in-law Sister Mary Kieran, Kay Ryan (Leo) and Dolly McQuaid.
Helen enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband Paddy, watching him perform at many step-dancing and fiddle contests.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dublin from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dublin at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dublin would be appreciated by the family and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
