GRACE RIEHL

Grace Riehl, 94, of Mitchell, formerly of RR2, Monkton passed away peacefully at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Riehl (1966). Dear mother of Warren Riehl (Dolores) and Barry Riehl (Gail). Loving grandmother of Jeremy Riehl (Leah), Candace Riehl, Chris Riehl (Caitlin); Kim Albers (Adam), Craig Riehl (Danielle) and Kayla Keffer (Lucas). Cherished great grandmother of Myes, Miria, Asher, Sage and Rosemary; Aiden, Clara, Adeline and Aria. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents John and Minnie Vock, sister Ruth Eickmeier (Frank) and brother Milton Vock (Isabel).

Grace loved her family unconditionally and her farm provided her with many years of pride and joy. She was a widow for almost 57 years and learned how to manage a farm on her own and raise two young boys. She was a meticulous record keeper and journaler. Always ready with a delicious meal and her famous chocolate cake, now known as Granny Grace's cake. A strong, independent women, she also went back to school to get her Healthcare Aid diploma while continuing to work at the Ritz Villa. She loved her gardens and planted a huge vegetable garden every year. She enjoyed her beautiful flower beds and a visit to the farm would always include a tour of the gardens. Her unwavering faith helped carry her through the challenging and happy times of her life.

Friends will be received at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6671A Line 44, West Perth (Brodhagen) on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Hutchison officiating. A reception will follow at the Brodhagen Community Centre. Spring interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
