Obituary for Glenda Walter

GLENDA ESTHER WALTER

Glenda Esther Walter of Huron Road, Goderich, passed away quietly at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Friday February 10, in her 83rd year. Born in Seaforth and raised on the 10th of Logan Twp., she was the daughter of Irwin and Selma Miller. Glenda is survived by her husband and best friend Gerald (Gerry) W. Walter who she married on December 23, 1970, her sister Shirley Siemon and sister-in-law Norma Walter. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Robert, Sheila, Roger (Jackie), Gayle (Hugh) as well as many friends that she met over lifelong activities.

Glenda is predeceased by her parents, her brother-in-law Roy Siemon and her nephew Barry Siemon.

She was a very dedicated and respected teacher in the elementary panel of schools in Sebringville, Guelph and South Perth Centennial School (Blanshard-Fullarton TSA) Rannoch. After her marriage she taught at Victoria in Goderich and Hullet Central School, Londesborough, where she taught the final 22 years of her career. After her retirement she partnered with her husband Gerry, in the operation of a farming operation known as WCF Red Angus/Waltercroft Farms.

In keeping with Glenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation or service and a private family burial will take in the spring at Maitland Cemetery in Goderich. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brodhagen or the charity of your choice.
