ENGELINA VAN ESSEN
Engelina Van Essen, 95, of Mitchell was called home to glory at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Beloved wife of The Rev. Henry Van Essen. Dear mother of The Rev. H. Martyn (Mary) Van Essen, Joan (Derk) TeBokkel, Walter (Marsha) Van Essen and Miriam Van Essen. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Lucy Van Dijk and nieces and nephews, all in the Netherlands.
Predeceased by her parents Wouter and Engelina Middelhof, step-mother Heintje Middelhof, brother Tim Middelhof and sister Annette Klompe.
An artist in her own right, Engelina never tired of trying new ways to express herself, with the ultimate goal of giving glory to God.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Bethel Free Reformed Church, Mitchell on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Spring interment in Bethel Munro Cemetery.
