Elmer Gordner, 92, of Mitchell passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, May 12, 2023.
Beloved husband of the late Lois Gordner (2017). Loving father of Russell Gordner (Elaine), Rhonda Ehgoetz (Sidney) and Heather Monden (Ken). Loving grandfather of Travis Gordner (Jerrika), Craig Gordner, Neil Gordner (Gabrielle), Adam Ehgoetz (Katie), Diane Chessell (Nick), Jake Monden and Wade Monden. Cherished great grandfather of Abilene, Branson, Conrad, Gwen, Nora, Parker, Evie, Emmett, Ryker and Laken. Dear brother of Laverne Gordner (Audrey), Doreen Bennewies, and Earl Gordner (Anne). Dear brother-in-law of Pauline Gordner and Beth Tubb. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents John and Melinda Gordner, brother Walter Gordner, sister Marjorie Ische, brothers-in-law Edward Bennewies, Orval Ische and Jim Tubb and sister-in-law Jean Henderson (George).
Elmer's passion was farming. He farmed in Logan Township his entire life. He enjoyed his family, traveling and fishing. He also served on the boards of the Mitchell Co-op and Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gery Luck officiating. Interment in Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre.
