DONALD HUTCHISON
Don Hutchison, 93, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, December 26, 2022.
Beloved husband of Berneice Hutchison. Dear father of Janice Ryan (Jeff). Loving "Poppa" of Campbell, Zac and Bo. Dear brother of Betty Lawson. Dear brother-in-law Elvey Rock, Lila Ruth Bullock and Janet Rock. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Walter and Bernice Hutchison, brother Morley "Mike" Hutchison (Betty), brothers-in-law Albert Lawson and Bruce Rock and sister-in-law Edythe Rock.
"Hutch" owned and operated Western Tire in Mitchell for 60 years. He was very interested in history, especially WW2 and aviation. Don coached women's slow pitch, was active in Scouting and was an "arm chair" manager of the Toronto Blue Jays from his favourite Lazy Boy chair.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marc Fraser officiating. The wearing of a mask would be appreciated. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Spring interment in Woodland Cemetery, Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Main St. United Church or Upper Thames Elementary School Playground Fund would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
