Obituary for Daniel McIver

DANIEL MICHAEL McIVER

Danny McIver, 64 – formerly of Kinkora and London, Ontario – passed away at his residence in Lynches River, Nova Scotia on Friday, December 9th, 2022. He is survived by his siblings Donna, Judy, Harry, Carolyn, Joan, Marilyn, Christine and Joe and their families, and he was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Norma (Costello) and his brother Patrick.

Danny trained as a Millwright and over the years he worked at Accuride in London, Blackstone in Stratford and Parmalat in Mitchell. He was a wise and witty guy who loved to talk and joke around. Dan always had a quick comeback to anything that was said to him.

Dan was kind, caring and generous. When he fell in love with the East Coast and moved to Cape Breton several years ago, he quickly made friends with all the locals. He loved to ride his Harley on the wide-open road, and he travelled all over the country. Playing cards with family at Christmas – especially 31 – brought him great joy. Dan guided and supported many people who struggled with addiction and his magnetic personality will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. He truly was one-of-a-kind.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held at the Lockhart Reception Centre, 116 Montreal Street in Mitchell on Tuesday, December 27th from 6-8 pm with words of remembrance to be shared at 7:01 p.m. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Dan's honour through LockhartFuneralHome.com to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.
