ALLEN MUEGGE
Allen Muegge, 81, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
Beloved husband of Ida Muegge for 58 years. Dear father of Steven (Pamela) Muegge. Loving grandfather of Charlotte and Mitchell. Dear brother of Lorraine Elliott and Ruth (Al) Striefski. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews including Susan (Bob) Rhynard. He will be missed by the Wood family and many cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Martin and Idella Muegge, brother-in-law Roy Elliott and nephew Don Elliott.
Al was employed at Smyth's Shoe Store in Mitchell for 45 years. He was treasurer at Grace Lutheran Church for many years and had served on the Board of the Ritz Lutheran Villa. He was an active member of the Mitchell Lions Club having received the Melville Jones Fellowship Award and just recently his 45 year pin.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gery Luck officiating. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Spring interment in Grace Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mitchell Lions Club Community Service Fund or Grace Lutheran Church would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
