Wendell Stacey, 87, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Beloved husband of Auldeen Stacey. Dear father of Dennis Stacey (Cheryl), Bill Stacey (Sally), Al Stacey (Robin), Suzanne DeJong (Kevin) and Mark Stacey (Jen). Loving grandfather of Kelly Stacey (Krista), Brad Stacey (Tina), Brittany Docking (Rob), Bryan Stacey, Morgan, Brayden and Jillian Stacey, Benjamin and Madison DeJong. Cherished great grandfather of Dylan and Mckenna Stacey, Will Docking and Evelyn Stacey. Dear brother of Dwight Stacey (Audrey). Dear brother-in-law of Audrey Watt, Dorothy McNichol and Mary Watt. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Howard and Fern Stacey, father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Islay Watt and brothers-in-law Bob Watt, Glen McNichol and Tom Watt.

Wendell was a proud member of the Mitchell community having worked his entire career at Stacey Bros. He was a member of Main St. United Church, served on the Mitchell P.U.C., was a member of the former Mitchell Jaycees, and the Mitchell Golf and Country Club. He was actively involved in hockey as a player and coach, was an avid gardener and traveller, and loved spending time with his wife, family and friends. 

Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Dunbar officiating. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
